It probably comes as no surprise to regular club members, but Mike McDole is one of the three winners in this year’s Sam Adams Longshot competition. His beer will be released in a 3 pack later this year, and will be available in stores nationally. Awesome job Mike, as usual!

According to Jon, Mike is also pushing hard towards California Home Brewer of the year, along with Virg Redman. Keep up the awsome work guys.

Kevin Pratt (BJCP Assistant Continuing Education Director) announced that he’s setting up prep classes for the BJCP Judging Exam. Classes will be held at B3 and will prepare brewers for the BJCP Judging exam to be held in November.
The class will cost around $100 ($50 for the test, $35 for class materials, $15-20 for beer tastings) for 9-12 sessions. This is an awesome opportunity to learn more about beer and brewing, and a chance to help out the brewing community by becoming a judge at competitions.
E-Mail Kevin Pratt with any questions, or to sign up.
