Congratulations to QUAFF on winning club of the year!
The rule changes certainly leveled the playing field this year as it now comes down to final round points to see which club wins the title. Quaff had the most winners, taking home 5 medals, to win with 24 points. Second place went to Cap and Hare Homebrew Club which had 4 winners and finished just 4 points back. In 3rd place, CLUB DOZE tied with multi-time defending champion Brewing Network with 14 points on 3 medals. GREAT JOB DOZERS! We can get it next year!

For those of you that are curious, here is approximately what the points would have been under last year’s scoring system. QUAFF would have crushed everyone with 222* points (last year the BN won with 190* points.
*Note this point totals are without the 12 point-per-category cap factored in.
DOZE would have finished either overall with 52 points if we used the old scoring system. As a comparison to 2015, DOZE scored 42 points, so this year was a very good improvement over last year. And it looks like the rule changes have enabled smaller clubs to compete for club of the year.

The final point I want to make is that we completely turned around our final round performance this year. Last year DOZE was shut out in the final round with no medal winners. This year 3 of our 11 entries medaled; that’s a 27% win percentage. Of the clubs sending at least 10 entries to the finals, only one club had a higher percentage of final round winners (Cap and Hare 36%). Once again this shows the quality of brew DOZE members are putting out.
