I hope everyone has been enjoying February and is recovering from all the SF Beer Week events. Speaking of events our meeting next week will be very eventful. We will be finalizing our Constitution and have Colin Kaminski as our speaker.  Colin is a Master Brewer and one of the authors of the book “Water: A Comprehensive Guide for Brewers”. He also worked as the product designer at Beer, Beer and More Beer, designing more than 180 products including the Peltier cooled conical fermentor.

We will also be starting our first of several Off-Flavor tasting/discussions hosted by fellow DOZE member Matt Sager. Matt is a Nationally Ranked BJCP judge and Head Brewer at Danville Brewing Company.

This meeting will be our first style focused Beer Of the Month table as well. Being our first style focus we are keeping it pretty open. The style category is “Dark” meaning anything SRM 22 or higher. So if you have a Beer that qualifies and want to enter it into the competition bring it in. The format is exactly the same as always, just with a style focus.

Lastly while I (hopefully) have your attention I wanted to give some updates on our Club Goal this year of generating interest and getting some of our members BJCP recognized. We have already had three of our members Robbie Proctor, Max Brown and Brett Higham pass the entrance exam. Congratulations! During our upcoming meeting we will be updating everyone on the progress of the outside study group and class we are trying to arrange with BAM.

Cheers,

Vito
