I was shopping around for a replacement carbon block water filter for my Culligan HF-360 inline filtration system, and came across an interesting filter on Amazon.  While MoreBeer and other retailers sell the standard 10 micron 10″ x 2.5″ carbon block filters, this model is the only one I have seen that actually specifies the removal of Chloramine (chlorine in gas form) from drinking water.  This filter is about twice as expensive at $20 than other filters, but at a rating of 1,000 gallons of chloramine removal, it would last a for 100 5-gallon batches (assuming 10 gallons of water filtered).  $20 is a small price to pay for 100 batches of better beer.

Given our water crisis in California, and the mix of delta, well, and other water sources bringing strange smells and flavors to our water, it is more important than ever to use a quality carbon block filter on our brewing water.  Using a filter like this could give your good beers that extra nudge into great beer territory and the best tasting water possible.  Always remember to filter your water slowly.  I run at about 16 – 32 ounces per minute for best extraction of chloramine and other off smells and flavors.
