Walnut Creek-based Homebrew Club, Diablo Order of Zymiracle Enthusiasts (DOZE) Wins Coveted National Awards.
The American Homebrewers Association’s (AHA) 2021 National Homebrew Competition is complete, and the AHA has announced the award winners. This year’s competition drew more than 5,045 entries from 2,037 homebrewers located in 50 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and 13 countries.
Members of the Diablo Order of Zymiracle Enthusiasts (DOZE) homebrew club, based in Walnut Creek, CA, won seven individual medals and DOZE earned the Homebrew Club of the Year award.
In addition, each year the AHA awards the Radegast Award to a club that focuses on diversity, philanthropy, education, community involvement, and promotion of both the club and the home brewing hobby. Exceptional clubs work hard to make an impact on their community. DOZE has assisted in fundraising and service for several local charities and causes including the California Wildfire victims funds, Youth Homes, Operation Dignity, pear picking for Contra Costa County Food Bank, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and F* Cancer over the last few years.The American Homebrewers Association Governing Committee selected DOZE as the 2021 Radegast Award winner.
DOZE’s wins in 2021 mark the first time that a club has won both the Homebrew Club of the Year award and the Radegast Award in a single year.
