From what I remember, DOZE brews the best beer in Northern California! If fact, we have a certificate to prove it.

I am 100% certain that every DOZE member at NCHF had a great time this year. We were well behaved at Hoppy Hour on Friday since not one of us ended up in the pool. That was a strange location, but it seemed to work out. Then came our potluck in the lower campground where the food was amazing and there was plenty for everybody. Great music, great beer, and great friends all getting together made a wonderful evening.

Saturday was the big day. So many people pitched in to put together a great booth that included a “beer” side and a “food” side. We had over 30 kegs of beer looking for a tap to pour out their liquid goodness, so if you brought some beer home, don’t be disappointed, there was just too much to go around.  Our first hour of pouring not only had 15 taps of all day beers, but featured our Breakfast with DOZE beers. The festival attendees absolutely loved this idea, especially pairing the beer with the actual cereal. Then came the first of four hectic moments when the 8 taps had to be changed over for the next hour. Team DOZE did this with style and grace and served up some delicious Belgian beers in the second hour. Following that was a round of big beers some of which went to 14%, whew!!  And, if that was not enough, the fourth changeover started our Randal (flux capacitor) setup. We had nearly 15 gallons of IPA pouring through 4 different Randal’s. The coffee Randal needed some more engineering so a pablano pepper one was quickly put in it’s place. The others were watermelon, citrus fruits, and pineapple. The pepper IPA was the best in my opinion, what a great last minute choice. The lines were long for these beers so luckily we had some awesome food being served by Karen Jackson and her crew right there! They made custom grilled cheese sandwiches tirelessly all day long.

The rest of Saturday was for enjoying our accomplishments and trying to ride one of the two crazy bicycles that Craig brought. Thankfully I haven’t seen any videos of me (Paul) falling off either of them, ha!  Some of the DOZErs were getting pretty good at riding them even after a long day of drinking.  Eventually we had to call it a day and clean up Sunday morning.

I would like to personally thank all of you for putting together a wonderfully successful weekend, it seemed like the teamwork was endless!  And, I would like to give a special Thank You to Craig and Karen and Matt S. for their huge contributions to the weekend.
