Following several preliminary judging sessions, things got busy on Saturday in the California State Homebrew Competition. This year DOZE had the honor of being the organizers of the competition, and for the first time meads and ciders were included.
On this big Day 1 of judging, 155 entries were judged with help from 35 Judges and 22 stewards/staff.
Thank you again to Oakland United Beerworks for hosting the event at their warehouse in Oakland’s Jack London Square district, a hub of the city’s beer scene.
Thank also Russian River Brewing Company, Danville Brewing Co. and East Brother Beer Company for helping us make amazing “Thank you” package for each volunteer. And, of course, to all the judges who gave of their time and skill to give every entry the consideration it deserved.
Sunday will be Day 2, with Best of Show judging and Awards ceremony.
