DOZE made an at the first Concord Oktoberfest –presented by the Brewing Network, Concord Chamber of Commerce, and Visit Concord. We had a line at our booth all day and emptied all 12 kegs before the event was finished!
As always, DOZE was happy and proud to support our local community events and charities. A portion of the proceeds from yesterday’s Oktoberfest will go to support Bike Concord, for the promotion of safe, healthy, and sustainable bicycling in Concord.
We did the team and style draw at tonight’s meeting!
Best of luck to all the teams. If you missed signing up, had a change of heart, or have been living under a rock, you haven’t missed your chance yet. Sign up now (scroll to the bottom to add yourself) and we will get you on a team. But don’t wait too long!
Current styles (the competition committee reserves the right to add more styles if needed):
Our newest member, Steve Kent, has shared a water profile he recently had done. To view the report –which is for water in Concord, in the Contra Costa Water District– follow the link: Water Profile – CCWD 8/2018
DON’T FORGET! Our August meeting is a Potluck Social, so bring your spouses or SO’s and a dish to share –and beer, of course!
We’ll have our usual bottle share, plus the Beer Of The Month table (Style: fruit beers), and a potluck dinner and mixer. No speakers, no presentations, club business kept to a bare minimum (we promise!). It’s a time tohang out, get to know each other better, and share good beer, good food, good times, and most of all, good company.
Why is the DOZE Club Competition so great?
We engage new members into the club life and activities.
We promote and encourage DOZE club members to get together to brew.
And we teach and prepare individuals for competition in NHC, State Fair, and beyond!
Sign up now! See Google Doc for Description and Rules. Team and Style draw during Sept Meeting (9/24). Start brewing last week of September if your style needs the full time!

Here are the two diagrams of the cap assembly for the Growlerwerks uKeg™ Pressurized Growler presented by Roger Laurel at last night’s meeting.
DOZE hit it out of the park, yesterday at the Hops for Hope event. We had fifteen taps and a few growlers pouring, and all got plenty of accolades from the guests. Best of all, as an in-kind sponsor for the event, the club helped raise much-needed funds for a great cause!
Hops for Hope is an annual fundraising event to support the work that Youth Homes has been doing since 1965 in providing foster children and at-risk children a safe, caring home via residential care, family-bases services, therapeutic services, transitional living assistance, and much more.
