NHC 1st Round Deadline

Reminder: NHC 1st Round Entries are due Friday 4/14. Bring 1 bottle for first round, and store 3 for second round incase you place. Go here for printing out entry labels(PDF) Check the BJCP site for the category list If you are entering, please email Jonathan with the amount you are entering. Booneville Bus!

Dick Fox has stepped up for the club again and chartered a bus to the Boont Beer Fest. The bus will be leave from and return to MoreBeer. Tickets will be sold in advance only, at the April DOZE meeting or from Jonathan in the B3 showroom. Tickets are $25 each, and do not include admission to the festival. Festival tickets are an additional $25 and must be purchased from Anderson Valley Brewing.

Hop Rhizome Time

Our favorite Homebrew Supply Store is about to get in this years batch of Hop Rhizomes. They tend to sell out every year, so if you’re interested in growing your own hops this summer, let Jonathan know what you’d like and he’ll reserve it for you.

Big Brew — CANCELED

Big Brew Canceled!

Due to the forcast 90-100% chance of precipitation on Sunday, the Big Brew will be postponed. Watch this space for the new date.

Scottish Ale Results

Congratulations to Gary Foster! His 70/- Heavy wins it with a 43/50 score! Gary has placed 5 or 6 times with his Scottish Schillings this year, all Golds and Silvers. I don’t know the exact number, but I know he is kicking some serious ass. Well done! Thanks to Jason, Chris, and James of B3 for taking their time to taste the beers, and to JJ and Morgan at EJ Phair for setting up the competition.

Big Brew Surprise

Those of you at last night’s meeting got the exciting news that B3 has offered to provide a free 5 gallon extract kit of your choice to be brewed at the Big Brew this Sunday. To get your free extract kit, stop by the MoreBeer showroom and register with Jon. Please have your 2006 membership card on hand (or you can pay your dues on the spot). The kit must be brewed on Sunday at the Big Brew.

National Homebrewers Conference

Online Registration for the National Homebrewers Conference is now open! It’s in Orlando FL this year, and the list of speakers is quite impressive. There’s always a group from DOZE and B3 at this event, and the stories they come back with are hard to believe.
