Club DOZE supported the second Backyard Brews event to help raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, a non-profit organization that funds research to prevent and end Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). DOZE member Matt Diaz, and his wife Wendy, set-up the event to support Team Emersyn and DOZE provided some great ciders and beers for the event. The Backyard Brews event raised over $5,000 for JDRF and Team Emersyn!!!

Recent posts on social media have brought to light hundreds of firsthand accounts of sexist, misogynist behavior towards women working in the craft beer industry. We, at Diablo Order of Zymiracle Enthusiasts (DOZE), condemn this type of behavior and will not tolerate it in our club. We welcome and celebrate women in all levels of homebrewing and the craft beer industry.
DOZE’s mission is to promote and enjoy the hobby of home brewing.
Tomorrow the Del Cielo Brewing judging will continue with a final flight and some mini-BOS rounds. Afterward a BOS for both DCB and the DOZE team comp will be performed by some highly acclaimed judges from multiple clubs.
We are fortunate to have this level of evaluation by some highly ranked judges. The DCB Comp is a Bay Area comp with clubs near and far.
Hoping to see everyone at the awards ceremony Sunday at DCB on Sunday at 4pm.
