The 2016 September meeting will include a NCHF update, answers to your brewing questions, gadgets, BOTM, and of course feedback for your homebrew. I am planning on having a little game called “create your OWN recipe”, to see how you are at selecting malts and hops. Kind of like schoolwork. See you there!

Join us this Tuesday as we welcome Colby Chandler from Ballast Point Brewing & Spirits to the Hop Grenade to share his collaboration beer done with Japanese brewery, COEDO Brewing.
COEDO and Ballast Point joined forces to brew West to East IPA, “a San Diego inspired IPA with a Japanese twist. The collaboration beer is brewed with Japan’s renowned “Aiyama” Sake Rice and fresh Yuzu peel, then fermented with Cali Ale Yeast from San Diego’s White Labs.

The 18th annual Northern California Homebrewers Festival (NCHF) will be heldSeptember 18-19 at the Lake Francis Resort in Dobbins, CA. This has always been a club favorite and guarantees a great weekend for all those who attend. Lake Francis has several campgrounds for both primitive and RV camping. See the NCHF website for festival details. Tickets must be purchased in advance, and at the time of this post (8.6.15) there are still tickets available.

What a great time we had at Black Diamond Brewing in Concord! Many thanks to Justin and crew for hosting us and giving a great tour of the facilities.
Congratulations to all the brewers that entered the Black Diamond Pro-Am GABF contest. From looking at a few scoresheets, some great beers were in this comp. There were, however, some standout beers that made the top 4:

This month’s meeting will be on May 18th, due to Memorial day. It will be held at Black Diamond Brewery in Concord. (2470 Bates Avenue, Concord, CA 94520)
The meeting will start at the same time, 6:30 pm. You can come early and enjoy some Black Diamond beers and Justin will give a couple of tours of the brewery as soon as members get there.
We will not be having the BOTM table, however, we will announce the winner of the Black Diamond-DOZE GABF Pro-Am contest.
