DOZE & Sierra Nevada Collab/Learning Brew Project.
You take the high mash temp and I will take the low… Tuesday May 2nd @ the Sierra Nevada Torpedo Room, 2031 Fourth St, Berkeley, CA 94710, they will be releasing our Collab/Learning brew project we did with Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. We ask you try and show up around 6:30pm. The presentation by Paul Hoagland of Sierra Nevada will start at 7pm. He will go over the experiment we performed and we will taste/discuss the results.
DOZE Pro AM’s Farm Creek and Danville Brewing Companies
DOZE’rs,
As we have been discussing at our last few meetings both Farm Creek and Danville Brewing Companies will be sponsoring Pro-Am entries at GABF (Great American Beer Festival) with DOZE this year. Two lucky brewers will be selected to scale up their award winning recipes at the aforementioned breweries. In order to enter you must have won an award from an American Homebrewers Association (AHA)/Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) sanctioned homebrew competition held on or after January 1, 2016.

DOZE Articles Of Organization 2017
Hey DOZErs,
DOZE is organizing as a 501 (c) (7). This was determined by a meeting of the leadership team this year. Organizing this way allows us to operate as an entity, set up proper banking, etc. The Articles Of Organization have been written and reviewed by the leadership team. The draft is available on our website (CLICK HERE) for your review. We’d like members to provide input before we finalize.
March Meeting 3/27/2017
DOZE’rs we have a special guest speaking at our upcoming March meeting on Monday. Charlie Bamforth who is an English scientist who specializes in malting and brewing. He is the Immediate Past President of the Institute of Brewing and Distilling and Anheuser-Busch Endowed Professor of Malting and Brewing Sciences at University of California, Davis.
We will also be continuing our off flavor tasting and education hosted by Matt Sager. As well discussing our upcoming events like the club Big Brew and Pro-Am’s with Farm Creek and Danville brewing.
Danville Brewing Co. at the Hop Grenade this Friday
The Hop Grenade will be showcasing Danville Brewing Co. beers from 5-9 this Friday (the 24th). Hope to see ya’ll there!
Brew Collaboration with Sierra Nevada (Limited spots, RAFFLE!)
DOZE’rs,
At our January meeting I mentioned an upcoming collaboration we have planned with Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. We just pinned down the dates for the brew sessions so I wanted to get the information out to everyone before our meeting tonight.
The details of the event are as follows. We will be brewing two batches of beer with SNBC’s R&D team on their Morebeer 20Gal Pilot system. The focus of this experiment will be on water treatment.

February 2017 Meeting
I hope everyone has been enjoying February and is recovering from all the SF Beer Week events. Speaking of events our meeting next week will be very eventful. We will be finalizing our Constitution and have Colin Kaminski as our speaker. Colin is a Master Brewer and one of the authors of the book “Water: A Comprehensive Guide for Brewers”. He also worked as the product designer at Beer, Beer and More Beer, designing more than 180 products including the Peltier cooled conical fermentor.
