DOZE’rs,
As we have been discussing at our last few meetings both Farm Creek and Danville Brewing Companies will be sponsoring Pro-Am entries at GABF (Great American Beer Festival) with DOZE this year. Two lucky brewers will be selected to scale up their award winning recipes at the aforementioned breweries. In order to enter you must have won an award from an American Homebrewers Association (AHA)/Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) sanctioned homebrew competition held on or after January 1, 2016.
Hey, DOZErs, don’t forget that the awards ceremony for the Benoit-Casper Homebrew Competition will be this Saturday, April 8th, from 12pm-4pm, at the Benoit-Casper brewery – 1201 Pennsylvania Avenue, Richmond, CA.
Hey DOZErs,
DOZE is organizing as a 501 (c) (7). This was determined by a meeting of the leadership team this year. Organizing this way allows us to operate as an entity, set up proper banking, etc. The Articles Of Organization have been written and reviewed by the leadership team. The draft is available on our website (CLICK HERE) for your review. We’d like members to provide input before we finalize.
DOZE’rs we have a special guest speaking at our upcoming March meeting on Monday. Charlie Bamforth who is an English scientist who specializes in malting and brewing. He is the Immediate Past President of the Institute of Brewing and Distilling and Anheuser-Busch Endowed Professor of Malting and Brewing Sciences at University of California, Davis.
We will also be continuing our off flavor tasting and education hosted by Matt Sager. As well discussing our upcoming events like the club Big Brew and Pro-Am’s with Farm Creek and Danville brewing.
The Hop Grenade will be showcasing Danville Brewing Co. beers from 5-9 this Friday (the 24th). Hope to see ya’ll there!
